JoeyD 5K

The second annual Run 3 For Joey D 5K is on Oct. 8 at Paradise Coast Sports Complex (PCSC). This run is a part of the ongoing initiatives by the Joey D Foundation – which was created with the belief that a positive impact on the youth in our local community will create positive change in our world.

Joey DiPascale was a Barron Collier High School graduate and lacrosse athlete who lost his life in a car accident in Tallahassee while attending Florida State University in 2021. The Joey D Foundation’s mission is to implement safety measures on the roadway where his accident occurred, to help fund scholarships for youth sports programs, and to fund scholarships and grants for Sports Management majors at FSU.

“When thinking about Joey’s life, I realized that although it was too short, he was very fortunate,” said Joey D Foundation’s Jen DiPascale. “We realized that not everyone is as fortunate as him, but everyone should have the same opportunities. That and Joey’s genuine love for helping others is what prompted us to start the foundation.”

“Paradise Coast Sports Complex is honored to host the Run 3 For Joey D 5K and to help preserve the memory of Joey DiPascale,” said PCSC General Manager Adrian Moses. “Youth sports in Collier County and Southwest Florida is also a passion of ours, and we are eager to further that cause with both this event and others on our calendar.”

The Run 3 For Joey D 5K will traverse the PCSC 5K Trail Course, which begins on The Great Lawn and includes two loops around PCSC Lake, an inner and outer loop of the complex and two loops of PCSC Stadium before finishing at the 50-yard line. Early registration for the 5K is $37.50 through Sept. 30 and is $39.50 from Oct. 1-7. Day-of-race registration costs $45.

The Run 3 For Joey D 5K commences at 8 a.m. on Oct. 8, with registration packets available for pickup starting at 6:45 a.m. Pre-race packet pickup and information is at Joey D’s Italian Restaurant at 2356 Immokalee Road in Naples.
